At Mudita Association, we’re always looking for combining modern education with spritual practices for living happy, balanced and purposeful lives. Our evergrowing love affair with technology, urbanization and fast paced lifestlyes makes us more distracted, less focused, less fulfilled, and as a result, less and less happy with each generation...
It’s much easier to break this cycle and get in touch with our deeper selves when we are younger. With this philosophy, we started organising children’s meditation courses lead by Bhante Mokkhita, our founder and a longtime meditation practitioner & teacher.
Our last meditation course was held in Buddha’s Weg Centre, Germany. You can guess how it went by looking at these smiling faces!
The series included active games, both indoor and outdoor, with children's yoga, games in the forest and quiet periods to practice still meditation. The breathing, body awareness, and contemplation exercises are all tailored for kids. We practice "sitting still like a frog" and being grateful for our bodies.
We encouraged children to reflect on living kindness with a theater play and other active roleplaying games.
We also did a lot of nature walks and practiced being mindfully aware of our surroundings. We reflected on our world, our interdependent relationship with the nature and how everything is connected even if we don’t see it directly in our physical reality.
It was wonderful to have the parents mediating along with the kids and joining in the games. They had a lot of fun and also learned to see things from the children's perspective.
Our next series of courses will be held in August 2018. This time we are planning to have about 3 children courses and 3 adult meditation retreats! If you want to stay in touch and get the updates, please join our newsletter. You can also contact us to find more about our children’s meditation courses.
All our projects are based on two pillars; Our donors and volunteers. We simply cannot do this without your help, and the best way to help us is to work with us! Please take a look at our volunteering programs by clicking the link below and join us if you can.
